Dr. Bernhard Michel
Bernhard Michel is founding partner and CEO of COOPERATIVE Infrastructure and Environment. He studied Civil Engineering at the Technische Hochschule Darmstadt with a focus on water management, environmental and spatial planning and urban development. He completed his studies with a university degree in macroeconomics at the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg. At the institute of water supply, wastewater disposal and spatial planning of the Technische Hochschule Darmstadt he finished his graduate studies with a thesis on the “Role of technical infrastructure in regional development”. His key qualifications are his experiences in interdisciplinary cooperation in the context of resource management, environmental and municipal economy. His teaching activities comprise lectures at the TH Darmstadt (Urban development, Regional planning as well as Environmental and spatial planning, 1978-1983) and at the Bauhaus University Weimar (Environmental Impact Assessment 1991-1997; Resource Management since 1998).
